I have always been excited of going to places I don't know for a while now, starting from where I am going to Seoul in 2012, and welcomed pretty warm and all, there. I am still a poor college student, and at that time cost have been my biggest challenge to go as I wish.
Now when I have been able to collect money, I am traveling... to Europe!
Yup, Europe. My first paying-myself trip is to Europe! Can't believe myself either. I have never imagine that I would go to Europe as early as in my fresh graduate year. I mean, only 1 year into the workplace and already Europe? Hahaha, what's that? Europe is expensive! :'). Considering my country and it's average salary, it's out of my reach.
But thanks to one of my best friend from high school who are taking her master in Germany, I am determined to go to Germany before she graduated, and... it become a full fledged plan to tour Europe! It thanks to her that I made a plan tight enough to collect it before her graduating deadline (hehe).
And it's on different contingent with my country. This is the first time I would travel outside Asia. The farthest I have reach is South Korea.
And
What makes me more excited is that...
Venice has always been my top destination to go! I really want to go there, but I always think it is still far ahead in the future. But no. I would be able to visit it this year. So close to me.
The Airplane ticket is bought. I bought it from Qatar Airlines. Expensive, I know, but at the time I really just want to make International Youth Traveling Card without hassle. And now... I don't think I regret my decision.
Now, as my trip is in December, I will prepare for it one by one, and update it here. Easy to track, and maybe useful for you guys :)
Bye for now~

Kopi Bar
I ended up ordering Apple pie and Iced Red Velvet. I really want to try their coffee, but for me coffee is best serve hot, and I need a cold one now. Anyway. Because the price of the apple pie is quite in the high end for the price, I expect to find a slice of 'proper' apple pie, or a personal sized apple pie. But it was a... Small sized apple pie, damp, taste like refrigerator (I think they are checking their freezer when I ask whether they have it or not) and it's hard to separate because it's so sticky. In other way, it was disappointing. Add that it takes such a long time for a pre-cooked meal. I don't usually be able to know with fresh/frozen food only by eating!
But their drinks, ummm... Just the Iced Red Velvet could cover up all of it for me. It's so delicious, I am falling in love at the first sip. Creamy, thick, with adorable sweetness, not too sweet and not like diet soda either.
There are outdoor seating, TV and Playstation that I don't touch, but I realized there is a bookshelf under the cashier. I love their books selection. A mix of 'pop' and serious. Not only serious books to make it like high ended elite coffee shop
Afterall, it's a good place. It is a bit pricey for college student, but worth the price. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is not bad ,:))

Nasi minyak
One of Palembang (South Sumatra capital) speciality meal : Nasi minyak. It's translated as 'Oily Rice'.
In the photo (and usually), it is accompanied by some side dish : Kalbi (the brown one, some sort of soft beef stew), bean with coconut milk, and sour manggo with chilly.
Whoops, I couldn't find the image. I will add it later. The rice is yellow, so it's adding color to otherwise quite dull plate. And... I love hot things so I kight be biased, but believe me, the manggo chilly is superb! Well that's what I could say for now, bye

Tea Party with Mad Hatter! - So pretty. Lady Alice Tea Room
Hi! Sorry for the lack of updates... I mean...
I decide that I will start to post review the restaurant that I have visited now. I will give the address, so you could know how to go there. Mainly in Jakarta, but could also be in another city. Now I really am a food blogger, eh? I originally doesn't want to be one.
The first I will post is Lady Alice Tea Room, the one in Benton Junction Karawaci
I really have a great time here. My advice is : Eat on the second floor.
The interior, furniture and scenery is way better than the ground
floor. And order their special-sounds-a-bit-weird tea.
Honestly, I don't really remember how the food taste like. I don't have a sweet tooth and never really keen on sandwich. What I remember is the overall experience. I love the decorations and interior and the furniture, as well as the teacups, pots, dishes, etc. it's all feels so vintage and classic, and like stepping into wonderland, and having the tea party with Madhater.
Me and my friends ordered the tea party packages as well as rose hibiscus tea. While I don't really remember how the cakes, scones, and sandwich taste (not bad, but not really good, maybe we choose the wrong variety of cakes), I remember the teas.
The earl grey is so - so, they don't really left a strong impression, but the Rose Hibiscus tea - it's magnificent. I recommend ordering their special tea, Rose Hibiscus Vanilla Tea, and Fruit De La Passion Tea. One of it is too sweet to my liking, and Rose Hibiscus tea is a bit troublesome to drink because of the rose petals - we only have two, but both are delicious.
The chimney cake are delicious and unique, but I don't really feel that it is extraordinary, perhaps because we don't order any dipping.
They let us sit and chat as long as we like, and it's long. We even have a photo session! With the cake as well. The server is not overly nice, but they are nice enough to let us play as we want it. Really feels like stepping into a dream world, wonderland, or go back in time or to Britain where the tea time party is a reality.
All the other aspect lose to the atmosphere you will get if you let yourself absorb it :)
It's located in Benton Junction, Jl. Boulevard Palem Raya, Cibodas, Tangerang
The Price range is quite high, so bring a group. The menu could be seen on Zomato here

Rempeyek
Wew, really... I have abandon this baby blog. Not my intention, really. Okay, so today I want to show you Rempeyek. Rempeyek is a chip made of flour, nuts, and herbs. Sometimes you could also find other ingredients, but that's the basic. It is salty and crunchy, just like chips, but you will feel full eating it.

See how much nuts is in it? It is not a really healthy food, and not calorie friendly given how much nuts is in it and how much oil is used to deep frying it. Anyway, it is quite good to try if you have the chance. Imagine fried nuts placed in one crunchy chips and once you bite, the crunchiness and saltiness spread into your mouth. All the time eating it, you will be met by constant crunchiness because of the nuts. Beside nuts, you could also find it covered with soy.

Name : Rempeyek
Type : Salty snack
Price : around Rp 5-10K per package

Getuk
Getuk, or the full name Getuk Lindri, is my most favourite traditional snack. It's tasty, filling, healthy, not over-sweet, and cheap. Very cheap for all we could get from it.

I get hooked when one day when my father bring me a very moist one. And it's one of the more interesting in shape, and neat, and looks clean, so don't hesitate in eating it :3. The taste is very Indonesian, but this snack don't use palm sugar, one ingredient that Indonesia traditional snack tend to overa use :D
Ingredients : ubi, coconut meat, sugar
Price : around $0.05/piece
Taste : sweet

Kuala Lumpur!
Now I am in Malaysia, and I'd like to share the food I found there. Actually we always eat at Chinatown since the food is quite similar to Indonesia so we just opt for an upgraded Chinese cuisine, since pork is so hard to find in our motherland.
So! Here are a few things I absolutely love :

This is called Siew Pao, I bought it from Moo Kee Confectionery near Petaling street for RM 1.5 each. It's like Bapao (pork filled bread) but instead of bread, the outer layer is puff pastry. It's so crunchy and savory, I love it!
Next, still from the same confectionery, Hello Kitty Mooncake for RM1. The taste is so-so.

After that, in the Petaling street I bought mochi. Not your ordinary mochi, though, it is flavoured mochi : Lychee, Ribena, Pandan, Pineapple, etc. It's RM 5

The last thing I found on Petaling street is this Hongkong Wife cake, and the green one is tambun cake. I bought it because of it's unique name, but the taste is so so. The price is RM 2.2 for the HK wife, and RM 1 for the tambun each.
Okay, that's it, I am only there for a day after all. Now I am moving to Melaka, and I will update what I found there. See ya!
